Teams line up to compete in LFF Lao Ford Cup

Seven football teams in Laos’ League 1 will compete in the LFF-Lao Ford Cup 2022, with matches to be played in Vientiane and Champassak and Luang Prabang provinces in August.
The Lao Football Federation (LFF) on Monday held a press conference to report on preparations for the Cup, which is sponsored by Lao Ford City Co., Ltd., and signed a cooperation agreement between the Federation and the company.
The press conference was led by the President of the LFF, Mr Viphet Sihachakr, Managing Director, Automotive Sales of Lao Ford City Co., Ltd., Mr Wayne McIntosh, and attended by officials from the two sides.
Mr Viphet said “We are very pleased to welcome Lao Ford City as the title sponsor of the LFF Lao Ford Cup 2022.”
The LFF Lao Ford Cup is a knock-out cup competition for men’s Lao League 1 football clubs. Its debut will be marked by matches in Vientiane and Champassak and Luang Prabang provinces as a platform to expand the competition across the country.
At the same time, a draw was held to decide which teams would play against each other.
On August 3, Luang Prabang FC will take on Master7 FC in Luang Prabang, Viengchanh FC will face Ezra FC at the National Stadium in Vientiane, and the Army FC will take on Young Elephants at the Army stadium.
Champassak will to wait to compete in the semi-finals on August 25, while the final will be played on August 28.
The LFF will use four stadiums for the matches, the National Stadium in Vientiane, the Army stadium, and the main stadiums in Luang Prabang and Champassak provinces.
The seven teams are currently competing in the League 1 tournament, which finishes in September.
